"Masked Men"
a poem to reflect the times
"Masked Men" It takes a second look to spot the crook Crime can be a curious thing Cause who makes the law Then breaks the law Can mystify the most moraled wing When the court jester tells more truth Than the Thief in Chief When the politicians are paid by polluters To tell you what to think Watch them float above the law while we sink When masked men roll up asking “Do you want to live with criminals?” All we need be are mirrors To reflect back to them The injustice The cruelty The hypocrisy It’s enough to make you go crazy Christians Divorced from Christ’s teachings This world doesn’t make sense

I recently listened to an episode of Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman where she had on Illinois State Rep Hoan Huynh. He shared this “Salute Method”, and I really appreciated this notion of “spread information, not panic”.
We keep each other safe.
Wishing you only treats today, and that you find/make some levity to balance out the heaviness of the times we’re living through.
With Love & Gratitude,
Lisa
